Little Corn Island is a very walkable island… it has to be, as there are no motorized or internal combustion engine vehicles allowed on the island! That means no cars, motorcycles, mopeds, or golf carts and none of the noise, pollution and distraction associated with these modern day conveniences. Even if there were a motorized vehicle on the island, it wouldn’t get very far as there are only narrow paved foot paths (“streets”) around the main town. A labyrinth of sand or dirt trails (which can be muddy during rain) run throughout the rest of the island.
This tiny tropical island is only about 1.5 square miles in size, which means you can walk or hike around the island in a few short magical hours. For those that enjoy a nice leisurely walk or hike, we suggest checking out a few different beaches (like Otto Beach, Secret Beaches, Goat Beach and Gun Point Beach). Be sure to hike through the jungle to the old lighthouse tower (turn up hill at the Lighthouse Hotel) for some great 360 degree views o Little Corn Island (see if you can figure out where LCIBB is from that viewpoint) or just meander through the village, to the baseball field and beyond.
Little Corn Island Beach and Bungalow is located on the east side of the island which makes it a great spot to start your walk along a string of open and deserted beaches. During high tide, there may be a few spots that can be a challenge to traverse but there is usually access to a foot path or trail nearby. You will definitely want to sip a cold Margarita or Frozen Pina Colada and checkout the map (experienced travelers snap a picture to take with them) of the island above the Turned Turtle Restaurant bar before starting your island adventure.
